FILIPPO DAMIANI

Filippo Damiani began working at the age of thirteen, for a fruit and vegetable wholesaler in San Benedetto del Tronto. His entrepreneurial spirit called on him to set up his own business, which he did with his late friend and colleague Gino Orsini. In 1968, Orsini and Damiani was established and Filippo has been managing director of the company from the first day to this.

Over the decades, despite the precipitous decline in the fruit and vegetable sector in the Piceno area, Orsini and Damiani has stood its ground. In 1979, a strategic choice was made, which would prove essential to the company’s survival and became the driver for its later expansion: a close commercial relationship with large-scale distribution was developed, which continues to be profitable to this day.

The foresight and passion that Filippo Damiani puts into his work are also what drove him to bring his daughters, Alessandra and Laura, into the management structure of the company. They quickly took to their responsibilities, running sales and product processing respectively.

With his strength of character and intuition, Filippo Damiani embodies the ideal of a “self-made man” and has built a company that produces good results every year in a sector that is difficult and, to some extent, fragile. Key to all this is his ability to fully involve the people in all areas of his work and life.

ALESSANDRA DAMIANI

Damiani’s eldest daughter obtained her degree in Economics and Business from the University of Bologna at the age of 23. Alessandra Damiani joined the company immediately after graduation, in order to meet the need for innovation that her father believed would bring new energy and quality to Orsini and Damiani.
Alessandra took on the dual roles of Head of Sales and Quality Manager.

LAURA DAMIANI

Filippo Damiani’s second daughter, Laura holds a degree in Languages and Literature from the University of Bologna.
After working successfully abroad for a period, she decided to move back to Italy and join her father and sister in the running of the family business.
Her people management and organizational skills made her ideal for the role of Production Manager, which she occupies with rigor and passion.

Irrespective of their roles and duties,
there is an understanding within the management team that works because it is rooted in firm soil.
The same soil that is the very essence of Orsini & Damiani.
